I have always been inspired by wireframe objects (either art or furniture) that play with 2D and 3D.
A good example is ‘The Wheel’ by Jeroen Henneman. The wheel is placed next to the highway south of Amsterdam, and this position contributes to the special feature of this kind of art; it plays with perspective once you drive by. The image is following you without being distorted, playing with 2D and 3D.
Another example is the the sculpture of Neil Dawson, placed in a magnificent sculpture park in New Zealand. It is still on my list but I can imagine that it is equally fascinating. If you want to take a virtual tour through the park you should visit their website: Gibbs Farm.
I have collected some more examples, varying from art to (semi) functional objects to design furniture. Love the simplicity.
